“GLORIOUS NEW ZEALAND”
NEW FILM BEING PREPARED IMPROVED APPARATUS IN USE Dominion Special Service. Dunedin, January 6. When the previous moving picture entitled “Glorious New. Zealand” was. be-, ing filmed the scenes in, and around Dunedin were taken at the very -end of the series. Now, however, a new. picture of this nature is being photographed, and the Government, which is ar--raiiging the . details in connection with the Aletro-Goldwyn Company, lias decided to give the Otago and Southland districts first consideration. This morning the official photographer, Air. H. Bridgman, assisted by ' Mrs. Bridgman, was busy with his motion picture camera .taking scenes from the vicinity of the reserve at the Triangle. This apparatus, by the way, is of the latest type, costing over £6OO, and although the last filming of “Glorious New Zealand” was a complete success, it is expected that with the aid of this improved device . still clearer and more satisfactory pictures will be screened.
Air. Bridgman states that he is particularly well provided for in the way of conveniences, such as a motor-car suited to the task in hand, and he anticipates no obstacles whatever. Already he has taken scenes in Southland as well as around the outskirts, of Dunedin, and he will leave shortly for the inland regions of Otago Central and the lakes district, where he- is confident of photographing with unprecedented success the wonderful scenery of these parts. He states that while in Southland a striking picture of the oyster industry, complete with an excellent prologue, was obtained. For the finishing of the pictures the Government has the’ special studio at Miramar, and it is anticipated _ that 30,000 feet per week of film will be turned out. Besides being shown in New Zealand, the picture will be displayed in all parts of the Empire and in the United States.
