The “Daily Mail’s” Berlin correspondent states that automatic spies are Germany’s latest Post Office installation. To meet the demands of the Foreign Office, the Ministry of the Interior mid the police, a complete system of listening-in to the telephone conversations of journalists, diplomats, politicians, or persons suspected of crime has been adopted by which a shorthand note can be taken, for example, of a dispatch being telephoned to a foreign newspaper.—Sydney “Sun” Cable.
