MARTINBOROUGH NOTES
Two very popular engagements were announced this week. Hilda, daughter of Mr. Frank Wall, “Mahaki,” is engaged to Gerald, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. 11. Baillie, Lower Hutt. Joyce, daughter of Mrs. Morrison, “Wharehau,” is engaged to Cecil Gifford, son of Mr. and' Mrs. Gifford Moore, Palmerston North. Both young ladies are well known here in lawn tennis circles. Miss Hibbert has returned from a trip to Rotorua. Miss Colman has returned from Paekakariki beach. Mr. C. Michell has been visiting Feilding. Mrs. McKay and children have taken a house at Lake Ferry. Miss Ussher is holiday-making at Rotorua. Mrs. Kershaw and her children have gone to Titahi Bay for the school vacation Miss Arkle is at Motueka, Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. R. Barton have been visiting friends here.
