A demonstration of the automatic safety wing device invented by Mr. F. Handley-Page, was held at Cricklewood recently. Sir Samuel Hoare, Minister for Air, attended. When the aeroplane loses flying speed, the attachment moves forward and enables the pilot to regain control of the machine. Photograph shows a "close-up" of the slot arrangement.
