At the recent elections for the Storting, in Norway, the Labour Party succeeded in getting one woman/ b'ru Helga Karlsen, returned. Fru Karlsen began her working life in a factory. For many years she has taken a large share in municipal work, rendering valuable services to her partv. She lias for some time been a member of the Oslo Town Council. Fru Betzy Kjelsberg, president of the National Council of Women of Norway, had been given a place on the list of the Liberal Party (Venstre) for the district of Oslo, but did not succeed in getting returned. Onlv one woman will thus have a seat in the new-ly-elected Parliament.
