WITH EMPIRE OR UNITED STATES? QUESTION FOR CANADA TO DECIDE Vancouver, January 4. Addressing the Canadian Chib to-day, Mr. Bennett, the Conservative leader, emphasised the necessity for Canada making a decision as to whether her strength economically was to be cast within or without the Empire. “We must decide in the next few years,” he said, “if we are to combine with the other parts of the Empire, or combine with economic interests elsewhere. If is either economic union within the Empire, or with our cousins to the south.”
