MANY CALLS IN DECEMBER AVERAGE OF THIRTEEN A DAY Owing to the holiday’s no meeting of the Executive Committee of the Wellington Free Ambulance Service was held this week. , ~ . There ivere 402 cases dealt with during the month of December, an average of 13 a day, which is a very heavy call upon the service day in and dayout. They comprised 69 accidents,. 32.> transports, and eight office cases, lhey came from the following areas, showing how general the service is throughout rhe province: City and suburbs, 309- Petone, 19; Lower Hutt, 26; Melling, 2", Silverstream, 3; Heretaunga, I • Trentham, 3; Wallaccville, 7; Upper Hutt, 3; Karapata, 3; Kaitoke, 1; KAandallali, 4; Johnsonville, 12; Ponrsa, 6; Titahi Bay, 1; Paremata, 1; Fae’kakariki, 1. The total .number of miles .travelled in the month was 4718. The total number of cases since the inauguration of the ambulance on November 9 t<» December 31 is 612, and the number of miles travelled 7244.
