VICE-REGAL. The garden party which was to have been held at Government House on November 22, but which was unavoidably postponed, will now take place on Tuesday, January 10. Their Excellencies therefore ask that those to whom the cards of invitation were issued for the former date will regard them as holding good for January 10.
Mr. Justice Davidson, of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, arrived from Sydney by the Marania at Auckland. lie will spend on a holiday visit to Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, and the Southern Alps. Mr. W. Grav Young returned to New Zealand by the Niagara after a ten months’ tour of Great Britain, the Continent, and the United States. Mr. G. A. Lawrence, B.Sc., of Johnsonville,’ has received advice from London that he has been elected to the Fellowship ot the Institute of Great Britain and Ireland. The Hon. W. H. Triggs, M.L.C., left Wellington yesterday for the north. Admiral Sir James Fergusson le.ft Wei-, hngton yesterday for the Bay of Islands. Mr. L. M. Ellis, Director of Forestry, left Wellington yesterday for Rotorua.
