LIKELY TO REMAIN FINE
’•There has been little change ol pressure since -Wednesday • morning/ stated the Meteorological Office-yester-day. “The weather over the whole area from bevotld the Chatham Islands westward to Australia being dominated by an extensive anti-cyclone- South-easter-ly winds have prevailed northward of Cook Strait, rind are still fresh to strong on the East Coast between Castle Point and East Cape, a gale being reported at 9 a.tn. at East Cape. Elsewhere the wind force has decreased, and over the South Island light to moderate variable winds prevailed. Further scattered showers had fallen on the East Coast between Cape Campbell and the East Cape, but the rain arei is contracting northwards, and the weather should be fair to fine over the whole Dominion by Friday morning.”
