Id. to send a box of kinematograpli film per post from any post office in New Zealand to any other post office. At "express transit” rates, the charge is 9s. 7d. On Tuesday last, the Post Office being closed, the manager of a Blenheim theatre, faced with the necessity of sending a box of film to Timaru, Lad to devise a new means of transit. He addressed it to an agent in M ellmgton, with instructions to post it from Wellington to Timaru. Freight by railway from Blenheim to Pictou was Is. 3d. and from Pieton to Wellington 10s. 6d.— a total of Ils. 9d. from Blenheim to Wellington. Then postage from Wellington to Timaru added Ss. 7d. to the bill, bringing the total up to 21s. 4d., or more than double th© ordinary postage rata.
