London, January 4. At the tallow sales 584 bales were oil cred, and 573 were sold at Is. to Is. oil. advance. Mutton, tine, 40s. 6d. per cwt.; medium, 365. 6ci. Beef, fine, 41s. 6d.; medium, 365. 9d.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date January 4:—Five hundred and seventysix casks offered, practically all sold; prices Is. higher. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date January 4:—-fallow: We quote present c.i.f. and e. values for tho following descriptions of tallow—Fine mutton, 395. 6d. per cwt.; good beef. 405.; mixed, 385.; market firmer. The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office, under date January 4:—There is a keen demand for tallow. Current quotations: Good mutton, 40s. to 40s. - 6d. per cwt.; good beef. 38s. 6d. to 395.; good mixed. 38s. 6(1. to 38s. 9d.; gut, 345. to 365. 6d. DAIRY PRODUCE The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., has received the following cablegram from their London house, under date January 4: —Dairy produce (last week's quotations in parentheses):— Butter, New Zealand, 1625. to 1645. per cwt. (160 s. to 1625.); market dull with downward tendency. Cheese. 945. to 955. per cwt. (91s. to 935.); market quiet. The Amalgamated Dairies. Ltd., have received the following cabled market report from their London manager, under date December 31:—Butter: Anchor, 1645.; firsts. 1625.; unsalted, 1685.; market firm. MEAT EXPORTS FROM SOUTH AMERICA Tho New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received a cablegram from its representative at Buenos Ayres South America advising die following shipments to the United Kingdom for the fortnight ended December 22, 1927, from Argentine and Uruguay; 252,225 quarters chilled beef; E9OO quarters frozen beef; 224,250 carcasses frozen mutton; 244,650 carcasses frozen lamb. The quantity shipped to the Continent of Europe during the saraa period was as follows: 76,148 quarters frozen beef; 5400 carcasses frozen mutton; 2300 carcasses froze i lamb. All entries for the Marton District A. and P. Association’s annual show on January 18 must be lodged by to-mor-row.
