TOWN AND COUNTRY Mrs. Tylee and Miss Erina Tylee have returned to Pahiatua after a short stay in Masterton. Miss Thacker, who has recently come out from England, is the guest of Mrs. B. Powell, Awatoitoi, Masterton. Mrs. E. Edmonds has been visiting Eketabuua as the guest of Mrs. Gallagher. Mrs. John Macßae, “Weraiti,” Masterton, is at present visiting Wellington. Mrs. Avery, who has been the guest of Mrs. R. E. Maunsell, Masterton, has returned to Hawke’s Bay. Dr. F. Kidd and Mrs. Kidd were visitors to Eketahuna during the weekend, when Dr. Kidd visited the Newman and Eketahuna schools and delivered short addresses. They left later for Hastings. A bridge party was held recently in Masterton by Mrs. J. .V. Gordon in honour of Mrs. H. E. Davis, who will leave shortly for England. Mrs. A. Scott, of Wellington, is visiting Mr. and Mrs.'Scott, of Martinborough. Mrs. McLachlan, of Masterton, is visbiting her daughter, Mrs. H. R. Biss, of Martinborough. Mr. and Mrs G. Andrew, of Wairoa, are visitors to Napier. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Cobbe (Feilding) are at present in Wanganui. Miss M. Turner-Williams, of Havelock North, is staying with Miss Gwenda McHardy, Palmerston North. Mr. and Mrs. N. Kelly (Napier) have gone to Wellington en route to Sydney. Miss M. Latham (Wellington) ,is a visitor to Wanganui.Mr. and Mrs. A. Sutherland, of Palmerston North, are spending a few days in Christchurch. Mrs. F. de Stacpoole (Takapau) is staying with Mrs. J. Rolleston, Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. F. Raikes, of Orqua Downs, are spending a few days with Mrs. Hammond in Taranaki. The engagement is announced of Mabel, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Beale (Nelson), to Fred,-third son of Mr. H. H. Packer ( Waipukurau). Mr. and Mrs. C. Taylor are Gisborne visitors to Napier. The engagement is announced of Norah, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. ■G. Beachen, Elsthorpe, Hawke’s Bay. to Lionel Edgar, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Gleadow, Napier. MADAME MENERE’S THANKS.
