HUTT STREET WIDENING

EMPOWERING LEGISLATION. As the result of the opening up and closer settlement of lands within the Lower Hutt borough, the council has found it necessary to widen existing Streets originally laid out with an insufficient width and to form new streets. Legislation, accordingly, has been introduced into the House of Representatives to enable the local authority to acouire land for street improvement and to raise special loans for the purpose. Surplus land can lie disposed of. and the proceeds applied towards the payment of liabilities incurred.
