CUSTOMS AMENDMENT BILL FINAL STAGES REACHED CHURNS, PLOUGHS AND RECORDS As the result of the progress made by the House of Representatives yesterday, the final stages of the Customs Amendment Bill have now been entered upon. Over 150 items were passed, the principal items of interest being the tariff proposals regarding stone, clocks, gramophone records, ploughs, and foreign chums. The Minister of Customs decided to defer further consideration of the items relating to stone and churns. Alterations were made with respect to the duties on gramophone records and special ploughs. The House rose at 1 a.m.
