MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING The management committee of the Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association met on Monday, the following members being present:—Messrs. M. h. r. Airey (chairman). F. Cornet, B. Beeves, W. G. Morgan, F. W. Eeed, G. Penlington, N. A. Foden. The question of the affiliation of the Ilutt Valley Association direct to the parent body was again brought up for discussion. Members were unanimously opposed to any such direct affiliation, which they considered should only be effected through the Wellington Association. A letter on this matter was sent to the N.Z.L.T.A. The secretary reported that the question of the affiliation of the catholic association had been deferred by them for one month. Approval was given to the application for affiliation from the Bawhiti Lawn Tennis Club. Further progress was made with the inter-club competition organisation. It was decided to commence on Saturday, October 22. That no entries would be Accepted from clubs after Monday, October 17. That only one team could be entered in each grade. That clubs are entitled to enter a team for each grade lower than its classification. A special meeting was arranged for Monday next to effect the draw and other details. The questicti of the inclusion of a senior grade competition was raised, but at tho present time nothing could be arranged in this direction It was. however, decided to reinstitutc the ladder under the grouping system recommended last year. The secretary reported satisfactory progress with the inter-secondary schools competition, in which there are 18 teams •entered. These matches are being played on the Miramar grounds on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Tenders for the erection of the pavilion, the plans of which had already been approved, were considered, and a selection made. The building is to bo commenced at an early date. Another twenty-one members were elected to the Miramar grounds.
