PROVINCIAL PERSONALS * _— Professor E. J. Boyd-Wilson, Professor of Modern Languages at Victoria University College, was a recent visitor to Dannevirke. Mr. H. W. Beasley, district railway engineer at Wanganui, has been on a business visit to Hawera. Mr. E. Beer, of Wellington, was in Pahuerston North for a few days this week. Mr. T. 11. Lowry, of Okawa, Hawke’s Bay, will shortly return to his home from Vancouver. Mr. H. M. Ongley is a Dannevirke visitor to Napier. Mr. J. R. Hardie, town clerk at Palmerston North, is visiting Wellington on municipal matters. Mr. J. McKane, of the staff of the Railway Department at Auckland., is visiting Palmerston North. Mr. R. Hill, of Wellington, is visiting Napier. Mr. R. E. Jefferson, of Wairoa, has been appointed judge of draught horses and Hereford cattle at the Poverty Bay A. and P. Show, which is to be held at Gisborne at the end of the month. Mr. S. J. Bolton, postmaster at Dannevirke, is on his annual leave. Mr. F. A. Mason, headmaster of the Foxton District High School, has resumed duty after his recent absence on sick leave. Mr. W. H. Smith, of Moutoa, has been elected io fill the vacancy on the directorate of the Shannon Co-operative Dairy Company, caused through the death of the late Mr. P. W. Brown. Major E. McKenzie, of Wellington, is visiting Wanganui. Mr. H. A. Matthews, of the Wairarapa, has returned to New Zealand after a lengthy visit to England. The Rev G. S. King, of the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church, Masterton, has accepted a call to the parish of St. Janies, Wanganui East. At a meeting of the Wairarapa Presbytery, both the Kirk Session and congregation of Mr. King’s present charge and the Wairarapa Presbytery read resolutions expressing their high appreciation of his earnest pulpit ministration and faithful pastoral oversight during the last four and a half years at Lansdowne. The late Mr. J. Jessop, of Ashburton, whose death occurred on Monday, was a brother of. Mesdames Westwood and P. W. Brown, of Foxton. BLANDFORD FURS.
