MEETING OF COMMITTEE Mastertoll. October 12. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held to-day, .Mr. W. F. McLaren occupying the chair. The New Zealand Aberdeen Angus Breeders’ Association wrote stating that its committee had decided to donate the sum of five guineas toward the prize funds of tho association for a champion group of Aberdeen Angus cattle, namely, one bull and three females.. A letter' was received from Messrs. Wright. Stephenson and Co.. Ltd., with reference to the association’s letter con- • cerning the challenge cup awarded by the writers, on the grader’s judging at tho works. As the Wairarapa Frozen Meat Co.. Ltd., had now transferred its interest to the Wellington Meat Export Company, this class would now require to be judged on the hooks at the Meat Export Company’s works. The New Zealand Hereford Cattle Breeders’ Association advised that it was not giving cash prizes for steer classes in the coming show season. A letter was received from tho New Zealand Romney Marsh Breeders' Association stating that the trophies awarded by tho association had been allocated for the forthcoming show season, therefore it regretted that the Masterton Association’s application was too late. The N.Z. Friesian Association wrote stating that it would donate, a. gold.medal for most points, in the Friesian section at tho forthcoming Masterton Show. The ground committee recommended in regard to the sheen pens, that the question of repairing or preserving the yards be left over for this year, and that next vear one-fifth of the yards be replaced with new ones, and the'renewing of the whole of the sheen pens on the outside uncovered section be spread over a period of five Tears. As. the auctioneel's had suggested some alterations to the ram ring, it was recommended that the ground •committee meet representatives from the Auctioneers’ Association to co into the question, and report to the general committee. It was recommended that two moveable unloading races lie obtained, and the matter was left in the hands of Mr. J. W. A. Falloon. Numerous revisions in the schedule were made, end it was resolved that a display of wool be held at the next show, and that the matter of arranging the exhibit be left with Mr. C. Ferry, -with power to add. In. regard to draught horses, it was decided to award tho medal from the Clydesdale Society to a yearling or two-year-old fillv. Mr. J. McKenzie donated a handsome trophy as rst prize for a group of one male and two females in Hie Hereford cattle classes. It was decided to add a class for a cow and two progeny, the animals to be taken from any class. Several additional horse classes were added, and Messrs. G. H. Perry and Cooper said they would arrange for a ten-guinea cun for the ladies’ jumping, to be won three times in succession. or five times at intervals. It was decided to .make the dog show a two-dnv event. Mr. R. J. Barton raid he would give a gold medal for the best punntf under six months in any breed, either sex, while it was agreed to ask tho New Zealand Terrier Club for a medal.

The following new members were elected : Messrs. S. E. Burridgo. W. Todd, W. White. B. O’Neill, V. E. Woodley, D. G. Campbell. . TJie finance committee reported that receipts for the month were £55 18s., and the expenditure .£152 19s. Sd.. leaving a credit nt the Lank, less unpresented cheques. n f £lOl 7s. 2d. Credit at the Post Office was £264 12s. 9d.
