"DELIBERATE ATTEMPT AT INFANTICIDE.” By Telegraph.— Pß «ss association Christchurch, October 12. In reference to the Linwood poisoning ease, m which two children playing in the street were given chocolates containing poison, Dr. Orchard says: "Personally. I think that it was a deliberate attempt at infanticide by some pervert, but that is only a surmise. It was apparently some irritant poison, »uch as salts of mercury, for.the mouths of the boys became badly blistered and burnt. Each boy was pretty bad. and we are being very careful to -make a thorough examination of the contents of their stomachs.”
