Maori Girl Burned.—An eight-year-old Maori girl named Mary Shortland was severely burned at Mocngawahiue yesterday morning. Her clothes caught lire and her little brother extinguished the flames by throwing, water over the girl. The sufferer was taken to the Whangarei Hospital in a serious state. —Press Assn.
