ST. .MATTHEW’S CLUB

Masterton, October 11

At the annual meeting of the St. Matthew’s Tennis Club, the Rev. W. Bullock occupied the chair. The report stated that the membership stood at 29. three being winter members only. Miss A. Perry had won the singles championship, for ladies, and Mr. S. Haor that for men, while Mrs B. Welch and Miss M. Har-rap were successful in the ladies’ doubles. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Rev.. W. Bullock; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. C. Major, G. W Smith, S. J. W. Gill, Ninnes, Mesdames M. Gawith, J. Welch, Risliworth, L. B. Maunsell, A. Colqulioun ; committee, Messrs. N. Winhall, A. Ball, R. Hatch, Misses R. Robinson and E. Vaiden ; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. C. Robinson. The opening day was fixed for Saturday at 2.30 p.m. The question of restricting the membership was left in the hands of file incoming committed.
