NARROW ESCAPE
CAR CRASHES INTO HOUSE
Dominion Special Service. Wanganui, October 6. Shortly after 12.3 o’clock this afternoon, a motor-car driven by Mr. Sargeant got out of control while descending Portal Street, Durie Hill, and attained a speed of approximately 40 miles an hour before it was brought to a standstill against the side of a house after crashing through a. wooden fence. Witnesses state that the driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, had a remarkable escape from serious injury The front portion of the car where it hit. the fence was buckled and the tires damaged.
