The finance committee reported that it bad considered the matter of the Australian tour, and recommended that iu the event of there being no visit from a South African team during the 1928 season, an invitation be extended to Australia to send an Australian team on the following terms and conditions:—Arrival about the end of Alay, tour over five Saturdays, playing five Saturday matches aud six mid-week games. Personal allowance, married men 10s., single men ss. per day. No share in profits. Party of seventeen players and one manager, member of the council to travel with touring team. A return visit at the commencement of the 1929 season on same terms and conditions. This was approved and the invitation is to go forward accordingly. The case was reheard, Ballantyne being present. He denied using the language stated by the referee, but admitted using certain obscene language to him. He had three witnesses, who were heard. After discussing the new evidence, the committee came to the conclusion that as the evidence was so contradictory they would reconsider their decision and remit the original sentence to two years’ suspension. A further report of a confidential nature was received by the council, and this was referred to the Wanganui Association for an inquiry before going into the question of confirming the suspension. South Africa. The South African Football Association wrote that the question of a visit to New Zealand could not be decided until negotiations had been completed with Australia, which association desired to send a team to fiouth Africa in 1928. No visiting team could he received in that year owing to the visit of the All Blacks to South Africa. The matter was deferred, as it was considered that the question of an exchange of visits with South Africa would have to be arranged in conjunction with the Australian Football Associaticn. Appeals. The appeal of Northern Club, Otago, against the decision in the Chatham Cup final, owing to their playing a man short due to the wrong interpretation of the rules by members of the council, was considered as frivolous, and the appeal fee forfeited. The appeal fee was returned, the appeal being upheld on tho rules. F,A, Trophy. In regard to the dispute between Auckland and Canterbury associations regarding the FA., trophy, in which both associations claimed the trophy on goat averages, each team having won two games and lost one. it was decided to send the whole of the facts to the English Football Association asking for their decision in the matter.
