LOWER HUTT SITTING Mr. J. 11. Salmon, S.M., presided in the Lower'Hutt Magistrate’s Court yesterday, when police and civil cases were dealt with. For a breach of his prohibition order. Frederick David Clout was fined £t. He was also fined £1 for being found unlawfully on licensed premises. Having no lights on his car at night resulted in Egbert Oswald Drier being fined 10s.
Permitting the use of an unregistered motor-van cost Charles Lawrence Neilson £l. Peter A. C. Swanson was ordered to pay costs (10s.) on a charge of driving the unregistered motor-van. Frederick H. H. Beck was ordered to pay 10s. (costs only) for failing to attend drill. For failing to attend camp he was also fined 10s. (costs only). Failure to notify a change of address to the Defence Department cost Thomas D. Forsyth £t. Alexander Lee was fined £3 fv not keeping his milking machines thoroughly cleansed. On a charge of using provoking and insulting language to William Ilorswood. Horace James, a carpenter, was ordered to enter into his own recognisance of £25 to keep the peace for twelve months. He was ordered to pay 10s. (costs only) for exhibiting offensive writing to William Ilorswood. CIVIL CASES. Johnson was ordered to pay McMorran and Co. £6 6s. 6d. at the rate of 10s. per week, in default six days’ imprisonment; Frederick W Teagle to pay Alexander Weir £3B 10s. sd. at the rate of 10s. per week, in default 38 days imprisonment; Jack O’Brien to nav I. Wriprht £1 15s. by Octoher 12. : n default forty-eight hours imprisonment; J. Beard to nay A. F Stubbs £5 2s. 9d. forthwith, in default five days imprisonment; R. Clifford to pay 31. Austin £5 Is. 6d. at the rate of £1 . per month, in default live days’ imnrisonment: G. A. Pugh to pay E. Le Roy £6 9s. 4<l. at the rate of 2s 6d. per week, iu default six days’ imprisonment.
