1 To-night at tho Town Kali a Una! opportunity will bo given of hearing Madame Frances Alda in a programme specially selected from operas in which she has scored her greatest successes in America and Europe. Giordano’s opera. "La Cena della Beffe’’ (’ The Supper of the Jest”) is widely acclaimed as the greatest opera of recent years. Il has had a remarkable vogue at the New York Metropolitan, largely duo to Madame Alda's performance of the principal role. An aria, "Semprc Cosi," from this work, will bo included in to-night’s programme. Other onoratio numbers listed are tho "Jewel Song” from Faust.” "Ono Fine Day” 'from "Madam Butterfly"), and Mimi’s "Addin" and "Mi Chiamanc Mimi,” from "La Boheme.” Mr. Cyril Towsey .will again bo heard as solo pianist and accompanist. To-night’s concert is announced as positively the last appearance of tho famous singer in Wellington.
