HUTT VALLEY TRAINS
IMPORTANT TIME-TABLE ALTERATIONS. The Railway Department announces a number of alterations to the train services in the Hutt Valley, north of Lower Hutt. The most important is the decision to extend the 4.40 p.m. Wel-lington-Lower Hutt train to Upper Hutt on Mondays to Fridays, inclusive. In May last at the request of the Upper Hutt people, alterations were made to the late train services from the city. In practice these have not proved as convenient as anticipated, and tho former 11.15 p.m. daily train is now reinstated, while the 10.30 p.m. train will run to Melling only. The provision of crossing facilities at Melling has made possible the extension of a number of trains, now terminating their runs at Lower Hutt, to and from the former station. Tlvs applies to the Sunday as well as the week day services. The alterations, which are given in detail in our advertising column to-day, will operate on and after Sunday next. It is probable that an announcement respecting the WellingtonWaterloo trains will lie made in .the course of a few days.
