Blowflies in large numbers have invaded tnanv lionie-s in Ashburton during the last few days (states the "Guardian”). Apparently they have been en couraged by the warmth of the weather A resident who killed 18 at one window, on returning five minutes later found several more buzzing up and down behind the curtain, said it was rather “a useless thing trying to kill them off, for if he dispatched one, another came to its funeral ” At night, when the heat has given place to "nippy” conditions, numbers of the evil things may be found crawling sluggishly about indoors and out.
