It is noted hat no official eport of the peech was pubished, but the * Action Fran:aise” asserts that the Pope blessed „urope with their blood,” and points out that neither Cardinal Mercier nor the French Cardinals ever obtained so remarkable an approval of the Allied cause. It congratulates the Americans on obtaining from the Pope such an implicit condemnation of German aggression, marking a definite change in the Papal policy.—Sydney “Sun” Cable. MATRIMONIAL DECISIONS / OF ROTA TRIBUNAL Rome, October 2. During a Papal audience of the Rota Tribunal, Monsignor Massimi, replying to Press attacks, said that the Rota’s matrimonial decisions humbered 55, in which 28 favoured annulment of marriage. Fourteen were favouring rich people able to pay costs, and fourteen poor whose costs were borne by' the Rota, completely absorbing the fees which -the rich paid. The Pope extolled one zeal of the Rota, which, since the Church was immaculate, must be immaculate also — A.P.A. and “Sun.”
