Samuel, whose constituency, Ohinemuri, disappears under the electoral boundary alterations, would be the party’s candidate for the Waikato seat. “This announcement was not authorised by me,” said Mr. Reid last night, “and as I previously . intimated, it is my intention to stand for the Waikato electorate at the elections next year.” Mr. Samuel was not in the House of Representatives last night, but following the gazetting of the new boundaries he announced his intention of offering.
