RAGLAN AND WAIKATO SEATS
MR. D. S. REID’S DENIAL
Tlie allocation of Reform candidates for the Waikato and Raglan constituencies for the general election next year lias by no means been finalised, and file arrangement announced by Mr. J. S. Fisher, president of the Waikato Reform Deague, is destined by one of tSie principals concerned, Mr. D. S. Reid, M.P. - ■
Mr. Fisher last week was reported -to have stated that it had been decided that Mr. R-eid would be nominated for the Raglan seat and Mr. A M. Samuel, whose constituency, Ohinemuri, disappears under the electoral boundary alterations, would be the party’s candidate for the Waikato seat. “This announcement was not authorised by me,” said Mr. Reid last night, “and as I previously . intimated, it is my intention to stand for the Waikato electorate at the elections next year.” Mr. Samuel was not in the House of Representatives last night, but following the gazetting of the new boundaries he announced his intention of offering. Ida services to the new Hauraki electorate.
