LEVEL CROSSING SMASH
RAIL CAR DAMAGED. Dominion Special Service. Christchurch, October 3. Tlio fourth level-crossing smash in the space of a fortnight took place at the main south road railway crossing, at Hornby this morning, when the electric storage battery rail car running from Christchurch tx> Little River name into collision with a motor lorry. The lorry .was struck a glancing blow, and the front of tho electric car was badly damaged, though the vehicle was not derailed. No ono was injured. The rail car was subsequently withdrawn for repairs.
