B.P.T. and 30 per cent. G.T., formerly' 15 per cent, and 25 per cent. Specific gravity refined mineral oils increased from .870 to .880, which will admit free practically all transformer oils. PROTECTION IN TIMBER. Laths and Shingles, formerly 2s. per ICOO, now 10 per cent. Rough sawn ■ timber, formerly 2s. per 100 super feet, is now us. except in the case of sizes not less than 25 feet in length and having a minimum cross sectional area of not less than 150 square inches, when duty is 3s. Sawn dressed timber, formerly Is., now 7s. 6d. per 100 super feet. Wooden doors, formerly 20 per cent. B.P.T. and 35 per cent. G.T., now 25 per cent, and 15 per cent. REMAIN THE SAME. The following are some of the items upon which no alteration has been made:—Grain and pulse, manufactured cr unmanufactured (other than maize, wheat, and flour), tea, candles, preserved fish, dried fruits, fresh fruits (other than lemons), matches, soap, etarch, sugar, cigarettes, cigars, tobacco, ale, spirits, wines, disinfectants, dyes, toilet preparations, rubber tires for motew-vehicles, cardboard and other similar boards in large sizes, paper, n.e.i., in rolls not less than ten inches wide, manufactured stationery, agricultural implements and _ machinery, dairying machinery, n.e.i., electric lamps,. traction engines; iron, bar, bolt, chamlei, tee, and rolled girders, metal cordage, iron nails exceeding one inch; rails and rail fittings for tramways or railways, wire netting, metal wove wire and plain metal wire, bicycles and tricycles, vegetable oils other than linseed, fish oils, ' cod liver oil, waxes, basketware and wickerware, brushes, manures, nets and netting, tanning materials (crude). TARIFF AGREEMENTS MAINTAINED. The resolutions give the benefit of section 143 of Customs Act, 1913, to the importer, and, with exceptions indicated above, apply to all goods imported or entered after yesterday. Certain alterations are also made in the list of goods exempt from primage duty. The resolutions also maintain Australian and South African tariff agreements. AN AMENDED BILL / LOWER HOUSE DISAGREES. The War Disabilities Removal Bill, as amended by the Legislative ’Council, was considered by the House of Representatives last night, and the motion pf the Minister of Justice (Hon. F. J. Rolleston) that the amendment be disagreed with was approved without discussion. The Minister and Messrs. J. A. Lee (Auckland East) and J. Mason (Napier) were appointed a. committee to assign reasons for the disagreement to the Upper House.
