Y.M.C.A. TEAMS MEET. On Saturday a team representing the Y.M.C.A. Hockey Chili, of Wellington, met a team from the Christchurch Y.M.C.A. at Ilagley Park. Christchurch. the game being played for the Y.M.C.A. Hookey Shield. Prom flie initial bully to (he final whittle the game was fast and open, especially during the first ten minutes. Wellington was the first to score from the stick of Ferguson, the half-time whistle sounding shortly afterwards. On resuming play was again fast and after about fifteen minutes’ play Steptoe netted for Wellington. Play from then on was up and down the field and from a free hit iust outside the circle Holland netted for Christchurch. Play was now keen and a minute from time Christchurch were awarded a penalty corner and from the resulting melee Holland again scored. The whistle sounded shortly afterwards, the game endin'.” a draw. For Wellington, McDonnell (in goal) was outstanding as also was Billing at centre-half; while for Christchurch, Bogers at centre-half was the most outstanding player. REPRESENT a TTVF TEAMS SELECTED.
