HARBOUR BOARD ELECTION
-♦ MR. NORWOOD PLEASED.
Asked yesterday as to his views on the result of the recount for the Harbour Board election, the Mayor (Mr. C. J. B. Norwood) said he could not feel otherwise than very gratified at the honour the electors had done him by placing him at the head of the poll He felt it to be a general appreciation and approval of the sendees lie had rendered to the city during his term of office, and was the more significant by reason of the fact that the number of votes he received was the highest recorded for anyone in the election, being in excess of the Mayoral vote and higher than those of the councillors at the top of the poll.
