The passengers and driver of a taxi-cab had a lucky escape from injury yesterday in the Taita Gorge, portion of the road over which the car was travclling giving way beneath the car, and throwing it over the bank, a drop of twelve feet, the fall being stopped by a tree. With the exception of the hood being badly torn and knocked about, and a couple of broken panes of glass, the car, which was driven by H. Barker, was practically undamaged, and, after being hauled back on to the roadway, was able to come back to town under its own power.
