TRADE OUTLOOK
BRITAIN AND DOMINIONS FAVOURABLE VIEW OF BANK CHAIRMAN London. January 20. At the annual meeitng of Barclay’s Bank, Mr. F C. Goodenough, chairman, took a fax-ourable view of the trade outlook. He said that xvith commonsense on both sides in industry there should be new opportun?ties for the development of the export trade, particularly wtih the Dominions and colonies, while xvith a favourable trade balance and a close co-operation of the Bank of England and reserve banks abroad, especially in the British Dominions, Britain should certainly be able to improve her gold possition without any material alteration of the old system and thus not only develop" visible and invisible exports, but build up the solidarity of the Empire.
