Motorists travelling on the Great r-outli Hoad, Auckland, the other evening, struck something phenomenal for this time of the year at (he top of the I’okeno Hill (states the Auckland “Star”). While all was clear in the valleys beneath, and the mellow moon cast a beautiful glow over the fields, the fog above was impenetrable, hidin'; alike the heavens above and the earth below. This condition lasted as far as Bombay, where the fog was very douse. It was' not a damp; but a. smoky fog. and it compelled motorists to drive slowly, effectually barring all attempts to establish ‘'records” between Hamilton and Auckland. ______ . —
