FEILDING DEFEATS NOMADS. Feilding, December 30. The first of the three holiday cricket matches was played at Feilding on Wednesday between a Feilding eleven and the Nomads. Perfect weather prevailed, but a dead wicket and on I field lowered the standard of the play. A feature of the game was the dismissal of the Nomads by the Feilding team, which contained several junior players, for 11!) runs. The bowlers, however, were assisted by the bad wicket and keen fielding. In the first innings McLennan (24) and Murdoch (30) were the top scorers for Feilding, while Mailing (32) and Donnelley (23) were the best batsmen for the Nomads. In the second innings Whitehead and Ramsay put up an excellent last wicket stand and be tween them scored 61 runs of .the total of 110 runs. The match was drawn. Feilding scoring 112 and 116, while the Nomads' total was 119 for I lie first innings when stumps were drawn. Among the bowlers Bernau took six wickets for the Nomads at a cost of 35 runs, and Ongley two for 25. In the second innings Oni-ley got five wickets for 64 and Swainson four for 22. For Feilding Murdoch took one for 40, Ramsay three for 21. Waldin four for 19, and Packer two for 17.
