CHURCH SERVICES

At St. John’s Church, Willis Street, New Year services will be conducted by the Rev. W. Gray Dixon, M.A., who will preach in the morning on “From the Be-, ginning of the Year Even Unto the End of the Year,” and in the evening on "A New Year Bonus.’’

The Rev. R. J. Howie, 8.A., will be the preacher at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, his subject in the morning being “Consecration," and in the evening “The Call to Go Forward.” At the Church of St. Alban (Liberal Catholic), on the second Sunday after Christmas, the subject at the Eucharistic service will be “Tho New Year." At both morning and evening services in the Terrace Congregational Church, the preacher for the day will be the Rev. H. J. Ralph. At the Methodist Church, Taranaki Street, special New Year sermons will be delivered, in the morning by the Rev. J. Bailey and in the evening by Air. A-. E. Waite.

The usual Christadelphian meeting will be held in the Victoria Hall, Adelaide Road, at 7 o’clock in the evening. The Rev. F. E. Harry will occupy the pulpit at the Vivian Street Baptist Cliuitsh at both morning and evening services. In the morning his lesson will be, "Begin the Year With God,” and at the evening (broadcast) service he will preach on “A Motto for the New Year.” The soloists are Messrs. H. Pargetter and H. Wilson. At the Sailors’ Friend Society Church and Institute in Whitmore Street, Mr. A. A. Whitelaw will deliver the address in the morning, and the Rev. D. .1. T. Pinfold in the evening. A special song service will be held at 8.30 p.m., which the orchestra will lead. On New Year's Day a picnic will be held., wet or fine, to which all seamen are invited.
