LINER CARINTHIA’S RETURN SIGHTSEERS REACH AUCKLAND f Dominion Special. Auckland, December 27. Carrying over 300 tourists from England, Canada, and the United States, the 20,000-ton Cunard liner Carinthia arrived at Auckland from Port Moresby, New Guinea, yesterday afternoon, on her second visit to New Zealand. The Carinthia has served as a temporary home for many sightseers since she was in Auckland last December. She is now making her second complete tour of the world in <■» many years. - On leaving New Zealand last year the vessel complete! her world tour via Java and the East, ine cruise to the Mediterranean Sea was undertaken in March of this vear, an this was followed bv a special tour of Norway Sweden, and Denmark in June. ' The Carinthia then returned to Liverpool to refit for her present voyvessel left New York on October 14, and touched at Cuba, Panama, Canal zone,. California, Hawaiian Islands, Japan, Korea, Peking, HongKong, and Manila. The tourists left for Rotorua by special train this morning, and will return to repoin the ’(Carinthia before she sails for Wellington on Wednesday evening. A party of 39 will motor from Rotorua, joining the 1 Limited express for Wellington at Waimarino, while a further party will visit the Waitomo Caves. Tlie Carinthia will leave Wellington early on New Year’s Eve, and a visit will be paid to Milford Sound before proceeding to Australia.
