Three Napier anglers who have just returned from Taupo put up a noteworthy performance while trolling on the great inland fishing paradise (says the “Telegraph”). Fishing from the Whizz Bang, the well known launch of Mr, H. White, of Taupo, they landed 47 trout of good size in the day from 4 a.m. to noon, this being the record catch on the lake so far this season. Next day the Hawke’s Bay party landed 33 fish with the fly, and altogether took 208 during their stay at the lake. Interviewed, one of the party stated that the fish are biting very well in the lake and most of them are in fine condition.
