UPHOLSTERED TRAMCAR SEATS
The Wellington City Corporation have Ihe distinction of being the first to adopt upholstered spring elating in traincars in New Zealand. The special moquette used in the first car, No, 184. was iinportcd direct by the corporation from the manufacturers in England. It is of the same quality as that used in London and other parts of the United Kingdom, where it,-lias been uniformly adopted by the T.O.T. systems of London: the district railway and tube carriages, the Metropolitan Electric Trams and the L.U.T. For the pa-t three .years the London General Omnibus Co. (the largest in the world) have been and me now using the same material. This com puny operates a fleet of 4359 omnibuses.
