After 20 months of work, the northern highway from Auckland to Henderson has been paved in concrete (reports an exchange), and it is hoped to have tho road open for light traffic during the Christmas holidays. The work has cost about £72,000. and has necessitated the laying of about 79,600 square yards of concrete.
