A BUSY FOUR DAYS

CHRISTMAS TELEGRAMS WELLINGTON OFFICE FIGURES The number of telegrams handled by the Chief Post Office at Wellington during the four days preceding Christmas Day is rather less than that handled over the same period in 1925, this year’s figures being 8179 below those of last year. For the purpose of calculation, all telegrams are divided into three classes —forwarded, received, and transmitted. Telegiams classified as “forwarded” are those which are actually handed in at Wellington for transmission; those classified “received” are those actually received by the Wellington officials for delivery in Wellington; while “transmits” are those telegrams which merely pass through the hands of the Wellington officials on their journey from their senders to the addressees. The figures for each of the four days immediately prior to Christmas Day, according to an official communication received yesterdav, are as follows:— t.' n
