“NO OVERTIME”
COAL-LUMPERS REFUSE TO CEASE WORK IN SUPPORT OF WATERSIDE WORKERS’ STRIKE Sydney, December 6. The Coal Lumpers’ Union, at a special meeting, decided not to cease work in support of the waterside workers’ “no overtime” strike until instructed by the union officials to do so. This is the second rebuff received by the watersiders during the past week. It is known that a number of other maritime unions, including the stewards and marine cooks, bakers, and butchers, support the stand taken, by the seamen and lumpers. Notwithstand ing this opposition, the watersiders seem deteimined to continue the strike.
