Mr. J. S. Bellamy, a bricklayer, who died, aged 71, at King’s Cliffe,. Northamptonshire. regularly laid from 800 to 1000 bricks a day when in the prime of life, and also after he was 60. At times he exceeded laying 1000 bricks a day. working 12 hours. nOe of the wonders of the North of England Tobacco Exhibition at Manchester was a 23in. pipe made of the largest piece of meerschaum in the world; while another was a hookah for cigar and cigaretet. made of beaten silver and gold, and valued at £l5O. It was destined for the Maharajah of Patiala.
