November 18, 1926, ( the following resolution was passed: i.v Wellington City Council pursuant to the provision of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and its Amendments, and the Local Authorities Empowering (Relief of Unemployment) Act, 1926, and in pursuance of all other Acts and powers (if any), it enabling, doth hereby resolve by way of Special Order: (!) That a Special Loan of Twelve thousand pounds <£12,000) to be known as “The Wellington City Unemployment Lxoan, 1926,** be raised by the Wellington City Council for the purpose of carryin n ’ out public works for the relief of unemployment, namely, street construction on Alexandra Road, Hornsey Road, and other streets, the object of the Local Authority in undertaking such street works being primarily to provide employment for men who would otherwise be without eiuployuient or without sufficient employment to enable them to maintain themselves and their families in a reasonable condition of comfort. , . , , (2) That the interest on the stud Loan be at a rate not exceeding Five pounds ten shillings (.125 165.) per centum per annum, payable half-yearly, during the currency of the said loan, being a period uot exceeding ten (10) years from the 31st day of March, 1927 (3) That a sinking fund of One pound (X 4 1) per centum per annum be established in connection with the said loan.
