DEATH OF DR. EBERTH
DISCOVERER OF TYPHUS BACILLUS. Berlin, December 3. The death is announced of Karl Eberth, discoverer of typhus bacillus. [The late Dr. Karl Eberth was famous as one of the. medical scientists who were successful in isolating the bacillus which causes typhoid fever.. After exhaustive research work he announced his discovery in 1880, another scientist in Herr Klebs corroborating his finding the same year, which two years later was further supported by Dr. Coats, an Englishman. Since the period of his discovery Dr. Eberth bad devoted a great deal of his time to research work in connection with remedies for the disease, and has written exhaustively on the subject.]
