The Marlborough Motor Cycle Club’s annual race meeting was held at Waterlea this afternoon in fine weather. The course was in excellent order. Brooklands Handicap, 5 miles.—D. Shaw (Christchurch), 2) h.p. Royal Enfield, 1; H. Morgan (Greytown), h.p. Harley. 2; P. Hillman, 3J h.p. A.J.S., 3. Thirteen started. Won by two yards. Mangham was fourth. Time, smin. 2 8-ssee.
Consolation Handicap, 5 miles.—H. Mangham (Wellington), 7-9 h.p. Harley, 1; R. Here (Christchurch), 3J h.p. AJ.S., 2; N. Webbey, 3J h.p. Norton, 3. Six started. . The best race of the day, Mangham winning by a hundred yards, second and third men close together. Time. 4min. 23 l-ssec.
