NAVAL - AND MILITARY TATTOO
The naval and military tattoo to be held in the presence of Their Koval Highnesses the Duke and Duchess oi York, in March next, at Newtown Park, is expected to be a wonderful spectacle. The Red Cross Society has been successful in securing Miss Doreen McCubbin as its Queen. The rol] which she will fulfill is that of Berengaria Queen to Richard, Lion Heart. The society proposes setting up a strong organisation which will leave no stone unturned in securing the success of their Queen’s candidature. On Monday evening next, a special meeting of al] 'those interested in Bed Cross work in the community, nnd who desire to further Miss McCubbin's candidature. will be held at Red Cross headquarters, 63 Dixon Street. The proceeds accruing from the Queen carnival, will bo devoted to worthy causes, i.e.. 50 per cent, to go to provide recreational amusement for our citizen soldiers, and" 50 per cent, to the Red Cross. The work of the latter lioth during, and since the war, is sufficiently well known to warrant a substantial measure of support from the ntiblic, and it is hoped that the meeting on Monday night will be particularly well attended by those who are prepared to actively enter upon the campaign.
