EXPENSIVE FOUNDATIONS. One of the blocks of the new Weilington Hospital buildings is erected on ground that at one time contained a good deal of water. In order to ensure a stable foundation for the building, 700 ferro-concrete piles, 14 inches bv 14 inches, and of an average length of 32 feet, had to be driven.
