DIVING AND SWIMMING. In connection with the Health Week campaign, a swimming carnival was held last night by the Boys’ Institute at the tepid baths. There was a good attendance, and the gathering, was addressed by Dr. W. E. Herbert ana Councillor G. A. Troup. The events were won as follows;— Boys’ 33 1-3 yards race: Ames, 1; Ward, 2. Time- 22 l-ssec. Men’s 33 1-3 yards race: First heat, Howie 1 Darling 2. Watson 3. Second heat, Allan I, Blaknev 2, Russell 3. Final heat, Allan 1, Howie 2, Watson 3. Time 18 3-ssec. Men's. 66 2-3 yards race: Watson 1, Hepburn 2, Eversleigh 3. . Time 45 l w ssec Diving: Shannon 1, Howie 2. D. Murrell gave an exhibition of different swimming strokes.
